πŸŒ“ October, In Between

I feel like I closed my eyes and September went by. There must have been a reason for that, right?

Some of you might know that I went back to school. Going back to an institution at my age feels ridiculous sometimes, but you’re never too late to learn, right? RIGHT??

I had plans to launch a new series on ecopsychology, inspired by squirrels, but then crippling anxiety set in. Isn’t that great? πŸ˜€ Instead, I focused on my studies, attendance, and Halloween, of course.

Who has been watching cosy spooky films since the beginning of October? Yes, that’s me. Beetlejuice, Casper the Friendly Ghost… I’m a sucker for a haunted house. Maybe it’s inspiring? Or perhaps I just really like ghosts. Who knows?

I guess the reason I’m being so random is that I wanted to check in. Life has been happening, plans have been put on hold, and somehow we’re already halfway through October.

While we prepare for Halloween, you can always revisit last year’s Halloween post here.

And speaking of Halloween, my house has slowly been transformed into a haunted house! I haven’t made it to a pumpkin patch, unfortunately. Visiting one is still one of my biggest dreams, and perhaps next year will finally be the year. For now, I’m planning to make a fire for my guests, weather permitting. There’s something about gathering around a fire on a chilly autumn evening that feels just right.

My current read is Lives of the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice. I’ve been reading it during those strange hours when I wake up late at night or in the early morning, read for a while, and then drift off to sleep again. Somehow, I end up having the most wonderful dreams. It’s a rather fitting book for this time of year, don’t you think?

And finally, anyone who knows me knows I’m the biggest fan of Heated Rivalry. My current rewatch count is fifteen. FIFTEEN. 😭

Somehow, this series has also inspired me to develop a genuine interest in ice hockey. Who would have thought? Certainly not me. But I genuinely enjoy the sound of skates cutting across the ice, sticks hitting the puck, and, of course, the (controlled) violence. πŸ˜€

So that’s where I am this October. A little overwhelmed, a little distracted, very much in the Halloween spirit, and still finding joy in the little things, even when life doesn’t quite go according to plan.

Now, tell me about you. How has October been treating you? What have you been reading, watching, or looking forward to this autumn? I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to.

Love,
Bloom
